EPL: Benitez identifies two Manchester United players that made ‘difference’ in 3-2 win over Newcastle

Newcastle United manager, Rafael Benitez, has identified midfielder, Marouane Fellaini and striker Alexis Sanchez, as the two players that made the ‘difference’ in both side’s Premier League clash on Saturday.

United’s tactical switch in the second half of the match helped the home side turn a 2-0 deficit, with midfielder, Juan Mata, forwards, Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez getting on the scoresheet as the game ended 3-2 in favour of Jose Mourinho’s men.

Benitez, who was happy with his team performance, said Fellaini and Sanchez changed the game.

“It was a great game we did really well, had two or three situations on the counter attack,” Metro UK quoted Benitez as saying at post-match

“When you play against a very good team it’s not easy because every substitution they were better and better.

“The only thing I said to the players is that they did a great job, we have to manage situations better but to be fair they were pushing and pushing, they have so many good players it was difficult.

“When they have top class players these things can happen. They scored a great goal.

“You put Fellaini and Alexis on, so many good players on the bench, when they come they made the difference.”
